Even though i wasn't born in Mexico i still go visit at least one every year. Before i lived for 2 yrs over there when i was around 12 i want to say and those were some of the greatest years. dont get me wrong i love it here in tahoe but over there and at that age was great. The whole year was filled with fiestas, school projects that had to do with their traditions and many other things. One of those projects we did from school was to reanact what happen with Los Ninos Heroes. Which were a group of Teenage soldiers that fought in the war againts the invading forces of the U.S, it was the battle of Chapultepec. It was the best and most unique experience ever because we where at the presidency and we were supposely fighting them with firecrakers and at the end my classmate runs from the second floor through the balcony wrapped in the Mexican flag and jumps off like what happened with the real Ninos Heroes.
Three words that remind me of Mexico all the time are religion, names of foods and culture.
Religion always reminds me of Mexico because it's a huge thing over there. All the schools over there have religion in their curriculum whether it's just going to church on sundays,for school, or actually learning from it. The school i went to did both and when i graduated there was this Mass for all the students and it was really fun. We even had due the confession and everything.
Names of Mexican foods,of course, always remind me of mexico because they are sooo good. but there are other foods that i haven't heard or seen here.That i only hear people from there talk about like popis. Popis are not really a food,food there more like a snack but i love them. There bits of hot dogs(sort of) wrapped in this tostada thing with ketchup,mustard and even sour cream. They are really good.
The last word it culture and this reminds me of Mexico all the time because it brings me back memories of all the things i did those years that had to do with the traditions of Mexico,like the school project, which there are alot of them all through out the year.
