We all wear Masks
The Aztecs had plenty of mask but they rarely used them while in the present day it's rare if someone doesnt have one on. In our daily routine we tend to have interaction with a variety of people. These may include classmates, teachers, friends, co-workers and just strangers. Depending on who you're with is the mask your going to be wearing. I think that the reason why people do this is because of the fear of being judged in a negative way. Everyone is always self-conscience of what people think, or might think, if they do something uncommon around people. I see wearing a mask is sort of like a safe spot. while your wearing the mask your being like person you are suppose to act like.An example i could relate to is working in a restaurant. When your at a restaurant you usually dont see a sad or mad waiter? that because they're all wearing their masks that say "i have no worries, Im so happy, and im here to serve you" and thats what people expect. It's a business. Ive had my days when am not feeling all that perky but ones i get to my job i put on my smile and dont take it of until my shift is over. but the way i see it is that its not the customers fault if im mad and i shouldnt take it out on them. i think other reasons people put on mask is when they want to fit in with certain people or friends. Sometimes its to impress someone, like a girl, you might pretend to like a certain type of music or something in that area. I think that sometime its not such a bad thing when people were mask because sometimes that way you prevent yourself from hurting someone feeling by being to truthful. Its hard to really know who you are if your always wearing masks and just the thought the people wont like the real you doenst help. but if your always wearing a mask then your never truly you and you might never be truly happy.

Amen! You can't really find who you really are until you start being honest with yourself. It's okay to put on a professional act at work, but if you try to be a people pleaser all the time that's not really going to make you happy.
